The week of June 16 is our monthly Stake Temple & Family History Week. Whether individually, with a friend, or with a group, we encourage you to make and keep an appointment that week to spend time serving in the House of the Lord and/or searching for your ancestors who still need their temple ordinances.
Great Idea: To commemorate the 250th birthday of the United States, the Bowles Grove Relief Society sisters are searching out ancestors from around 1776 who have not yet had their temple work done. They plan to work on this through the Fall and then set a time to take the family names to the temple to perform all the ordinances from baptism to sealings (not necessarily all in the same day). You might consider doing something similar.
Quote from President Oaks:
“One of the many reasons you will need the constant influence of the Holy Ghost is that you live in a season where the adversary has become so effective at disguising truth that if you don’t have the Holy Ghost, you will be deceived. Many obstacles lie ahead. The distractions will be many.”
To help us navigate these obstacles, the prophet offered loving words of counsel, saying, “I want to help all our members covercome present or future doubts. Whatever those doubts, the way to overcome them is to get closer to our Savior, Jesus Christ.”
President Oaks offered four ways we can draw closer to our Savior: strengthen our faith in Him, increase our humility, seek help from others, and be patient.
Sincerely,
The Littleton Colorado Stake Temple & Family History Committee
